About the artist

I have been creating artwork since I could hold a pencil. I quickly progressed to transforming napkins into couture ensembles for my dolls.

I have an interest in dolls because of  their relationship to humans. I create them to tell stories and to express my love for fashion and beauty.  My work is influenced by technology, literature, music, film, history and nature.

My artwork is highly detailed and complex. Each piece is the synthesis of inspiration, extensive research and skill. I recently moved from New York City to Silicon Valley where I am developing a body of work inspired by the energy and innovation of my new surroundings.

Lauri Panopoulos was born in New York City.  She received a BFA from Syracuse University and an MFA from The New York Academy of Art in Manhattan. She continued her studies at The Art Students League of New York, New York University, The National Academy of Design School, The International Center of Photography and Stanford University School of Continuing Education.
